Jasmine Francis
Student Trustee
Francis is a student at Los Angeles City College, studying communication, business, finance, and banking. She is the newly elected Student Trustee for the Los Angeles Community College District and a former ASG President known for being a dependable, hands-on leader who always shows up for her peers. Her leadership and advocacy earned her a letter of recommendation from the President of LACC, recognizing her commitment to student success. Francis is also a proud member of the IGNITE program, which empowers young women to become political leaders. Through IGNITE, she traveled to the State Capitol to meet with legislators and advocate for policies that support students and equity in education.
Francis recently marched in Sacramento alongside faculty and students during the AFT 1521 March for Education to defend programs like food pantries and childcare that help students stay enrolled and thrive. She has also played a key role in uniting student leaders and ethnic studies groups across campuses to build collective power and put them into positions that lead to opportunities. As a college student, Francis is committed to making sure every student has a voice at the decision-making table and that support systems are strengthened, not cut.
