Los Angeles Community College District to Host 2024 California Cybersecurity Workforce Development and Education Summit

The summit, co-hosted by the California Cybersecurity Task Force Workforce Development and Education Subcommittee, and the California Cybersecurity Career Education Pipeline and Pathway Project (C3EP3), will convene local and state leaders to address developing workforce/employment needs at Los Angeles Valley College

WHAT:
Los Angeles Valley College (LAVC) and Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) are hosting the 2024 California Cybersecurity Workforce Development and Education Summit. The summit will convene key local and statewide cybersecurity stakeholders and major partners to collaborate, network, and discuss critical issues, enhancing the cybersecurity career education pipeline to better align with state and local workforce/employment needs.

Various information security leaders from the California Cybersecurity Integration Center (Cal-CSIC), the California Cybersecurity Task Force, the California Division of Apprenticeship Standards, the private sector, the California State University system, and community colleges.

WHY: 
To address current and future California Cybersecurity workforce capability and skills gaps, leaders from cross-sector industries, the public sector, K-12/Higher education systems, and partner organizations must develop a comprehensive, coordinated approach to capacity building. Incorporating both traditional (“academics”) and non-traditional (“skills-competency based”) approaches for professional preparation, leaders will discuss California Cybersecurity Career Education Pipeline and Pathway Project (C3EP3) development and facilitate discussions related to the creation of a cybersecurity career education pipeline.
