Creating a Document or Web Content?
The techniques to create accessible content are similar for digital documents and web content. Get started with Creating Accessible Documents [opens PDF].
Accessibility Standards
The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) uses the Revised 508 Standards as the accessibility standards for Information and Communication Technology (ICT). ICT includes information on web sites, software, digital instructional materials and CANVAS, most electronic documents, and certain hardware.
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 level A and AA are now incorporated into the Revised 508 Standards. WCAG applies specifically to content on the web, but the Revised 508 Standards adapted WCAG to apply to electronic documents as well.
In addition to the Revised 508 Standards, LACCD also uses WCAG 2.1 level A and AA.
