CHILD ABUSE IDENTIFICATION AND REPORTING

California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA)

Under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA), certain types of employees, known as mandated reporters, must report known or suspected instances of child abuse or neglect that they are made aware of during the course and scope of their employment.

All LACCD employees except student workers are mandated reporters. The District is required to provide you with training in child abuse identification and reporting.

Please read the following material carefully, as it informs you of your legal responsibilities and the potential criminal and civil penalties for failing to report.

Step 2:

Open and print the following PDF document:

Step 3:

Keep the first two pages for your future reference. These pages summarize your reporting responsibilities and confidentiality rights under CANRA.

Step 4:

Review and sign the form on the last page, entitled "Condition of Employment Pursuant to CANRA."

Step 5:

Return the signed form via courier to:

Your training will be successfully completed once the form has been received by the Human Resources Department in the District Office.
