Welcome to the Retirement Services Unit
Retirement is the traditional point in a person’s life where the individual stops working. Employee involvement with a retirement system does not, however, begin at that point. Employee involvement with a retirement system starts when the employee’s assignment is processed and continues through retirement. In addition, life events such as a change in employer, a change in position, or, for that matter, taking a leave of absence, can affect retirement system options and benefits.
The Retirement Services Unit is the District’s formal contact with retirement system. We also coordinate our work with the District’s Human Resources Division and Employee Health Benefits Unit. The information on this page, and the links provided, will provide LACCD employees with “good information to know” and who to contact when more specific information is needed.
