, Los Angeles City College (LACC) is one of the major providers of comprehensive program for welfare participants. The college has partnered with the Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) to educate participants and provide a successful transition from Welfare-to-Work. In providing an education that enables students to contribute to society. LACC affirms the principle that individuals should have the opportunity to develop skills to reach their full potential.

This includes orientation and other supportive services available on campus for participants who qualify. Also, they are given a mini-tour of the campus, a college placement test, and assessment by our counselor, and appropriate classes for study.

Case Management is provided through counseling, advocacy on behalf of students, education and training verifications for various agencies, completion of forms needed by DPSS, and resource and referral information from within the community.
