WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS AND RESOURCES

Perkins 1C funds provide resources for the development and improvement of career and technical programs.  See "Perkins IV-Career and Technical Education Improvement Act of 2006" for information including use of funds required and permitted activities and reporting information.

CalWORKs (California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids)
California's plan for welfare reform. The Community Colleges offer expanded, multi-strategy programs for CalWORKs participants who are referred by the County or are enrolled in career programs at the colleges.  This site includes the State Systems Office program information and the LA County Department of Social Services programs, projects and initiatives.

English Language Education and Career Training (ELECT/LEP) Programs

A regional collaboration to support, strengthen and initiate intensive English language programs with contextual career content.
