Robert Garber - New Pierce College PresidentThe Board of Trustees for the Los Angeles Community College District today announced that they have chosen Robert Garber to serve as president of Los Angeles Pierce College. He will assume the post February 1, 2006.

Robert Garber is currently Vice President of Student Services at San Diego Miramar College, having served there for nine years. Prior to that he was Dean of Student Services at Los Angeles Pierce College for five years, after service there as Associate Dean of Student Development and Director of School Relations. He has served as an instructor in UC San Diego extension, as well as at Los Angeles Pierce College. He holds a Master’s degree in Social Psychology and AB in Psychology from UC Berkeley and an AA from West Los Angeles College.

The Board of Trustees made their final selection following an extensive, nation-wide search and last week’s candidate’s forum where members of the college community and the public were able to meet, question and hear presentations from three finalists.
