Final results from the May 15 election have been certified and incumbent Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) Trustee Georgia L. Mercer has won re-election with 50.09 percent of the vote.
“We are delighted that Georgia won re-election,” LACCD Chancellor Darroch “Rocky” Young said. “She was recently chosen as Board President by her fellow trustees, and her experienced involvement in the Board is vital to the future of our colleges.”
Mercer has served two four-year terms as trustee and faced three challengers on the first March ballot. She faced Roy Burns in the May runoff election.
“I’m very pleased to be re-elected,” Mercer said. “I’m part of a great team on the Board of Trustees that has made huge steps forward and I’m glad we will be able to continue our momentum.”
