LAVC FORENSICS TEAM HOSTS SPEECH COMPETITION

 

Last weekend, the Los Angeles Valley College Forensics Team hosted the largest speech and debate competition of the year, the Pacific Southwest Colleges Forensics Association's Spring Championship Tournament. Over 40 univiersities and community colleges attended, with more that 400 students participating. They were assisted by 100 professors and judges.

One student from Los Angeles Valley College, Rachel Resnick, was awarded the championship title for persuasive speaking at the tournament.
She will be the Southern California representative to the national 2006 Interstate Oratory to be held in Pensacola, Florida, April 20-23rd.   Valley College has never before had a student serve as the California representative at this prestigious tournament, which at 130 years, is the oldest in the nation.
