Institutional Effectiveness Update

LACCD Strategic Plan....

The first formal Strategic Plan in the history of the LACCD was adopted by the Board of Trustees on January 24, 2007.  The result of a year-long, district-wide effort, the plan sets priorities to guide the District over the next five years.  For more information about the LACCD Strategic Plan, its five goals, and 33 objectives, click here: District Strategic Plan

Student Success Initiative....

The Student Success Initiative works to improve student learning and student educational outcomes across the LACCD.  This fall the Initiative has published "The Framework for Student Success," a draft document that outlines a strategic framework for improving preparatory instruction and student achievement in the Los Angeles Community College District. The Framework has also been posted on the RP Group's Center for Student Success Website, and growing numbers of colleges are contacting the Institutional Effectiveness Division with positive feedback and requests for advice on how to bring similar concepts to their own districts.  In order to put the Framework into action, three new district-wide taskforces on Professional Development, Matriculation, and Instruction have been launched and will be facilitating both short and long term solutions for increasing student access, success, and engagement. For more information about the district's Student Success Initiative, including the entire Framework for Student Success document, click here:  Student Success Initiative

LACCD Accreditation Update....

The accreditations of Los Angeles Harbor College, Los Angeles Southwest College, and West Los Angeles College were all reaffirmed in spring 2006, as were those of Los Angeles Mission College, Pierce College, and Los Angeles Valley College in spring 2007. The three "City-side" colleges--Los Angeles City College, East Los Angeles College, and Los Angeles Trade-Technical College--are currently beginning preparations for their accreditation site visits in spring 2009.  To access LACCD college accreditation reports and other accreditation resources, click here:  LACCD College Accreditations
