The
Office of Diversity Programs located at the District Office
welcomes you to this section of the LACCD web site.
Our
goal is to promote diversity and equal employment opportunity
throughout the Los Angeles Community College District.
We aim to guarantee your education and employment environment
is free from discrimination and harassment.
The role of the Office
of Diversity Programs and the College
Compliance Offices is
to develop and implement policies and procedures that
follow Federal and State laws. Our charter also includes discrimination and sexual
harassment issues, oversight of federal compliance
-- including monitoring recruitment, retention and promotion
of diversity.
We investigate and recommend
resolutions of discrimination complaints; we serve as
a resource to you on relevant issues; we provide assistance
for you if you have a disability related issue; and we
coordinate employee support programs and faculty training
workshops.
We promote diversity through programs such
as
Project MATCH a cooperative district wide project introduced
to promote quality instruction and diversity in community
college teaching. We are supporting an environment
that reflects, complements and meets the needs of the diverse
student population we currently enjoy at our colleges.
We
look forward to helping you.
