DIRECTORY OF PROGRAMS AND COURSES

APPROVED EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

The Approved Educational Programs Section of the Directory is the official listing of approved programs. An "approved program" is a degree major or certificate program (including options that are specified on a student transcript), which has been approved by the LACCD Board of Trustees and the State Chancellor's Office and is listed in the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office Inventory of Approved Programs. The inventory can be viewed here on Chancellor's Office Web site (link opens a new browser window). Approved Apprenticeship Programs are also listed in this Section.

The listing includes the following information:

1. TOP Code - Code assigned, based on guidelines in the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office Taxonomy of Programs.

2. Award - The type of award (e.g., Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, Certificate)

3. College - College approved to offer program.

C – City S – Southwest
E – East T – Trade-Technical
H – Harbor V – Valley
M – Mission W – West
P – Pierce  

4. College Title - The title under which the college awards the degree or certificate.

5. State TOP Title - The State title of the Taxonomy of Programs code under which the program was approved.

6. Required Units - The number of required units required for completion of the program.

7. Permanent Program Identifier/Unique Code - A unique code assigned by the State Chancellor’s Office for purposes of identifying programs.
