The Los Angeles Community Colleges have over $250 million in financial aid to help qualified students finance their education!

Enrollment fees are $46.00 per unit. Federal and State programs are available for eligible students to help with educational expenses. For information about how to apply for financial aid, please follow the steps below. You may also contact the financial aid office at your college of choice for more information.

The Financial Aid Application Process


Step One: The Application

The financial aid process at LACCD begins with you submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) via www.FAFSA.gov or by paper. You should not wait until you are admitted to the college of your choice to apply for financial aid. Below are the LACCD federal school codes:

Step Two: Follow Up

If you submitted your FAFSA online and provided an email address, you will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) via email within 72 hours. If you applied online but did not provide an email address, you will receive a SAR in approximately two weeks by mail. Students who completed a paper FAFSA may expect their SAR within 4 – 6 weeks. Your college will receive your information electronically from the US Department of Education and will use the information to determine your financial aid eligibility. It is your responsibility to review your SAR to ensure that the information is correct. Keep your SAR for your records.

The Financial Aid Office will review your application and notify you via your LACCD email if additional documents are required. You may also login to Student Information System to check your financial aid status. Note: all colleges within LACCD process financial aid files on a first-come, first-served basis. Therefore, it is very important that you respond to inquiries by the Financial Aid Office in a timely anner.

Step Three: The Notification Process

You will receive an Award Notification email.


Step Four: Disbursement/Refund

Financial Aid disbursements/refund(s) will be delivered to your selected refund preference with BankMobile Disbursements, a technology solution, powered by BMTX, Inc. It is your responsibility to select your refund preference as soon as you receive instructions from BMTX, Inc. You must report address and phone number changes to the Admissions and Financial Aid Offices immediately.

Prior to disbursement, your enrollment will be verified and the disbursement amount will be adjusted accordingly.
