Information:

The LACCD purchases Medical Health Benefits through CalPERS under the California Public Employees Medical and Hospitalization Care Act (PEMHCA). Although LACCD has retirement plans established with CalSTRS for our Faculty and Administrative members, and with CalPERS for our Classified members, all medical benefits are obtained through CalPERS. Our colleagues who have established retirement accounts with CalSTRS also have access to CalPERS’ website and may set up a MYCalPERS account for your medical benefits, and have access to CalPERS agents for questions regarding medical benefits questions. Similarly, all Classified members with CalPERS retirement accounts have access to the CalPERS website and may set up a MyCalPERS account for both medical and retirement programs, and have access to CalPERS agents for questions regarding medical benefits questions.

For LACCD’s Retirees, whether you retire with an annuity from CalSTRS or CalPERS, your retiree medical benefits are provided through the LACCD’s contract with CalPERS, and you have access to CalPERS website and may set up a MyCalPERS account for your medical benefits and/or CalPERS retirement account, and you have access to the CalPERS agents for all of your medical benefits questions, and/or CalPERS retirement questions.
