Workforce and Economic Development

The LACCD Workforce and Economic Development division provides leadership and coordination of the district’s workforce, career, grant, contract, customized training, noncredit, and adult education programming. The Division provides vision, guidance, and leadership in the development of districtwide strategic initiatives and provides support to the nine colleges in the development of their institutional plans and initiatives related to workforce and economic development focusing on flexible and manageable workforce training and career pathways that result in high-skill and high-wage employment propelling the local and regional economies of Los Angeles and the State of California. In addition, the division focuses on the development of long-term relationships and partnerships with business, industry, K12, other higher education, and community representatives to address workforce needs in the LACCD service area, county, state, and beyond.

The Dolores Huerta Labor Institute and Van de Kamp Innovation Center are a part of the LACCD Workforce and Economic Development division.
