Student Trustee

Milo Anderson considers himself a “career student”, not only in the classroom but in every aspect of his life. In 2009, he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism from Humboldt State University. At HSU, Milo served as chair of his residence hall area, won awards across the Pacific Northwest Region in parliamentary debate and extemporaneous speaking as a member of the HSU Forensics Team, and had a blast being a DJ, production director, and news production director on KRFH.

Since then, he has held several jobs including being a venue host, taxicab driver, political canvasser, tele-fundraiser, marketing assistant, and a life and health insurance agent. Milo has also taken and passed on his first attempt both the Series 7 General Securities Representative Exam and the Series 66 Uniform Combined State Law Exam.

Last year, Milo returned to collegiate life at Pierce College where he is currently studying to earn an Administrative Professional Associate Degree and several certificates from the Computer Applications & Office Technology Department. Milo also hosted and produced 20 episodes of Volunteer in the Valley and served as community outreach director on, the internet radio station of Pierce College.

One of Milo’s favorite and defining quotes is from Theodore Roosevelt who once said, “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” Milo is extremely humbled and gratified to serve as a conduit between The Board of Trustees and The Students of The Los Angeles Community College District and hopes to promote constructive, lasting student engagement and participation in the decision-making process of governance within the LACCD and beyond.
